Johan held a number of management roles at various collieries of Anglo American’s South African coal operations and was the general manager of Kumba Iron Ore’s Sishen mine. During this time, these mines achieved various prestigious safety, productivity and efficiency awards within the Anglo American Group. He was previously the head of operations and business services at Anglo American’s coal division.
